Reading Response One

Disagreement is an essential element of the scientific process because it allows us to see something we believe to be wrong, examine it, and then try to disprove it.

One scientific issue that has slightly confused me is stem cell research. Other than the fact that I don't know much about it, It doesnt make sense to me that it has so much potential, so many ways to better mankind, yet we cannot do it. We state that it goes against god, but really, doesn't most science? Did we not disprove the geo-centric model, that the catholic church fought so hard to keep? Science was orginally made to help prove a god, now religion and science are opposites, enemies, two forces against eachother. If it betters mankind, why should we not do it?

Excellent response to #2. The cross-roads of science and morality sometimes become very congested and hard to sort out.

An example would have strengthened #1

Hey, Bry,

I'm responding here because your other blogsite (the freewrites and prompts) don't seem to be "comment enabled". So ...

An immense outpouring of words, my friend. Very prolific and quite creative. I must say, though, that I prefer you grappling with ideas in the here and now than exercising you fiction writing. Your good at both, but I think your real strength is exposition, non-fiction, belief, debate, analysis. But, hey, it's all good.

Excellent effort.

A+
